AutoSOS – the app that could save your life.


No matter how careful you are on the road, accidents can and do happen. The repercussions of an accident are often determined by the speed of emergency response. Your safety on the road is our number one priority and to help ensure that get the right help after an accident, in the quickest possible time, we’ve launched AutoSOS.

What is AutoSOS?

AutoSOS is our new smartphone app, which reduces the response time of emergency medical services by pinpointing the exact location of an accident. The service works only within the borders of South Africa.


Who can benefit from AutoSOS?

 The AutoSOS service is exclusively available to the regular driver of the Auto & General comprehensive vehicle insurance policy.

How does AutoSOS work?

The app must be downloaded and activated by the regular driver on the qualifying policy. Once activated, the app will detect when the driver is in a severe accident, using smart drive detection technology.  Since the app is not linked to a deep installed device, it will work in any vehicle. The app makes use of smart drive detection technology. 


How do I download the App?

Downloading the app is easy and can be done from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store.

Does AutoSOS work outside of South Africa?

No, the service is limited to within the borders of South Africa.
